\ Very attractive mineral, berry and violet character that follows through to a medium- to full-bodied palate, with firm tannins and a medium finish...\

The history of Ch. Poujeaux can be traced back to the 16th century, when what was then called La Salle de Poujeaux was under the ownership of Gaston De L'Isle, who also owned Ch. Latour and built the impressive, turreted Ch. de la Rivière. This is a classically styled Bordeaux with dark fruit, nutty and spicy characteristics, and a long, dry finish.

Medium red-ruby. Currant, mocha, tobacco, cedar, menthol and a whiff of smoky game on the expressive nose. Supple and broad, combining good volume for the vintage with rather cool flavors of black cherry, menthol and roasted herbs. This spreads out n... Stephen Tanzer.
