Croze Cabernet Sauvignon Longwood 2002

Winemaker's Notes:

Vineyard Notes: In their final vintage, these ancient vines yielded small amounts of tiny grapes with concentrated flavor and tannins. Winemaking Notes: The grapes were hand-picked, crushed and fermented in small lots to preserve fruit character and prevent extraction of harsh tannins. A long, cool fermentation and 39 months in barrel created an elegant wine with true Napa Valley style. Tasting Notes: The 2002 CROZE Cabernet Sauvignon is balanced and complex. The moderate tannin structure compliments the bright fruit character, in keeping with the winemaker's philosophy and style. This wine has the ideal balance for a graceful and long lived wine. The wine's bouquet reveals hints of berry and vanilla. The finish is agreeably long and abundant. 2002 CROZE is a natural with roasted meats and anything from the grill. Or on its own, in front of a fire with a friend. Technical Notes: Blend: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon Vineyard: Longwood Ranch Appellation: Napa Valley Alcohol: 13.5% pH: 3.7 Barrels: 39 months in French Oak Production: 913 cases Return to Croze Wine List

Fantastic Napa cab that isn't over the top jammy but well balanced, fruity, dark, earthy and acidic with medium tannins. Perfect wine to go with some nice filet or sirloin steak.
