(a true second label for the first time, consisting entirely of declassified Napa cabernet) Ruby-red. Plum, redcurrant, Cuban tobacco and herbs on the nose. Sweet and juicy, with a firm spine of acidity that seems a bit spiky. Shows good extract for a second label, but could use a bit more personality. The tannins are slightly dry-edged.

CrossBarn is a second label started by Paul Hobbs and utilizes the same vineyards used in making his legendary Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon bottling. A long growing season in 2002 allowed for perfectly ripe grapes, which contribute a fruit-forward blast of black cherry and boysenberry offset by pretty shadings of mocha and white pepper. Only 1,341 cases of this lovely Cab are available so get yours while you can!
