This is a pure, unoaked Sauvignon Blanc from the region of Sancerre. Incredibly fresh, full of minerals and smoky subtle fruits. Excellent with seafood.
Among his peers in the Loire, Lucien Crochet is regarded as one of the 10 top white wine makers in all of France. His exquisite single vineyard Sancerres capture the essence of the Sauvignon Blanc grape and of the limestone-rich soils of Sancerre to perfection. Steve Tanzer, one of the most perceptive reviewers of Loire wines has characterized the Crochet Le Chene as "bright, lively and bursting with fruit. Steely flavors of lime are accented by notes of pink grapefruit. This is the essence of Sancerre chalk."
