What to Expect

Syrah: One of the few grapes to really be a global success. Syrah combines a meaty core of ripe berry fruit with tones that range from herbal to peppery in a package that tends to be medium bodied with good acidity and softer tannins. With age the wines can gain lovely leathery and black olive notes that make them a great match for savory and gamy dishes.

Varietal Composition: 50% Syrah, 50% Bonarda Dark reddish/purple color. Intense aroma of black raspberries. This medium-bodied, very lively wine hasloads of ripe red plum and black raspberry flavors with a slightly spicy character and a long, juicy finish. Certainly enjoyable in its youth, but will age beautifully. A funwine to try with a wide range of red wine-friendly foods.

Aromas of black fruit, herbs and earth. Initial flavors of cedar, graphite, earth, must and bitter black fruit. Round, prominent tannins. Apparent, but integrated oak. Medium body with high acidity and a not unpleasant bitterness on a long finish. Very good food wine - steak and broccoli rabe come to mind.
