Crios Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

External Review by Premium Wine & Spirits:

The 2012 Crios Cabernet Sauvignon is produced from their estate grapes grown in Lujan de Cuyo and matured in vat in contact with oak staves (like all the Crios range). It has a floral and roasted aroma, quite ripe Cabernet with notes of plums and just a peppery hint in the palate that talks about the variety. The medium-bodied palate has some gritty tannins that would benefit from some powerful food. Drink now–2016.

Good dark red. Cassis, spices, licorice and wild herbs on the nose. Juicy, spicy and classically dry, with a penetrating quality to its strawberry and plum flavors; more red fruits than black in the mouth. At once vinous and pliant, finishing with firm but suave tannins, good bite and noteworthy persistence and lift. This has enough structure to last nicely in bottle but also offers plenty of early appeal. Excellent value.
