Crane Lake Cabernet Sauvignon California 2011
Rich color with notes of blackberry, cherry, raspberry and vanilla. Tannins are soft and layered. Suggested Food Pairings: This wine pairs well with aged cheddar and Gouda cheeses. Also try it with leg of lamb, rib eye steak or pasta in a marinara sauce. 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Proprietors dry red. Alcohol 12.5%.
Crane Lake is a value-driven brand produced by Franzia and Bronco Wine Company. The majority of these wines are produced in California, with some branching out into Australia (for Down Under Chardonnay and others). These are available in supermarkets and most retailers.
Other reviewer must have gotten a bad bottle. This is not a fantastic wine, but for 5.00 a bottle it really is pretty darn good. Makes for a great everyday drinker or good table wine.
2013 Christmas gift from J. Lefere. Better than 2005 Louis M. Martini, which is saying very little. At least it is gulpable.
A delicious, tangy/dry white. When our State Store has it, into the cart it goes!
On the price/quality scale. This rates even better. Inconsistent over the years....but it's easy to invest a $5 on a wine that is often very full-bodied and full of blackberry notes.
The worst wine on the planet! I would rather drink Boones Farm. First bottle broke while trying to remove cork. Second bottle was more like cooking sherry or vinegar. We received these in a basket my wife won at work. Everything in the basket was bad, looked very nice, but was terrible and it all had to be thrown out.
