I had this delicious pinot noir at Alioto's Italian Restaurant in San Francisco; with a rich and spicy tomato based seafood stew (cioppino I believe they call it). I shared the bottle with friends over mixed entrees. It caught me by surprise. Unlike any pinot noir that I have had before or since. It was bold, spicy, had some weight to it, and was velvety in textrue. It made such an impression on me, I kept the cork to remind me to search for it back home in Atlanta, GA. This vintage was impossible to find or order in Atlanta, GA. I finally found someone to order in a half case of the 2006 vintage. I hope that it is as enjoyable as the 2004 vintage.
