Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

Winemaker's Notes:

Tasting Notes :Progressing on to the Chardonnays, the hand-picked, 100% whole-bunch pressed 2007 Kidnappers Vineyard Chardonnay from Hawkes Bay has a wonderful Meursault-like nose with touches of hazelnut and citrus fruits, the palate vibrant, slightly honeyed with that attractive hazelnut theme cropping up on the finish.

Tasting Notes:

Medium straw colour streaked with silver hues. Aromatically complex with citrus blossom, lemon zest, peach and baguette crust. This wine is tightly woven with taut acidity providing a tensile line through the palate which allows the complex flavours to unfold slowly. Summer fruits, cashew and faint vanilla spring to mind.
