Unusual flavor profile for this tasting, includes fresh plum and blackberry, cedar, mint and black pepper. A touch on the tart side, which actually came through as refreshing. Ready to drink now and over the next couple of years.

Merlot grows beautifully in the loose, rocky soils of the Columbia Valley; by restricting irrigation, we force the plants to ripen fruit and not grow big canopies of leaves. Early ripening Merlot is carefully fermented and then aged in mostly American Oak barrels to more closely match the intense fruit aromas with the smokey barrels. The core of chalky tannins and the gorgeous fruit aromas and flavors give the wine a unique personality.
