Covey Run Gewürztraminer Columbia Valley 2009

Though not quite up to the exalted standard of the awesome 2004, this excellent aromatic white wine deftly mixes floral scents with dusty talcum powder and spicy citrus. A seamless blend of grapefruit, citrus and green apple fruit is lifted with varietal spice and perfume; the wine has good body too. Sounds like a hot date, which it is, ready for any kind of saucy Asian noodle dish you care to throw at it. Just not up to the overall elegance and polish of the '04.
Lightly sweet, with distinctive peppery, nutmeg-scented grapefruit and quince flavors, finishing with a gentle texture. Drink now.
Fresh and bracing, a nice mix of floral and citrus rind aromas, with spicy, semi-tropical fruit flavors. There's a splash of Muscat Canelli in the blend to bring out the orange blossom and tangerine notes.
Fresh and forward, bursting with floral and citrus scents and ripe, semitropical flavors. A splash of Muscat Canelli in the blend brings up the orange blossom and tangerine flavors.
Though it is almost pure Gewürzt (just a splash of Muscat for the sweet aromas), this does not show the sensuous floral perfume of the grape. It's decidedly citrus-flavored, specifically grapefruit, along with green apple and pineapple.
This straightforward gewürztraminer has lush pineapple flavors and a lean texture; for chicken satay.
Off-dry and effusively fruity, with focused pear and floral flavors, balancing nicely on the finish. Drink now.
