Couvent de l'Eglise Pomerol 2006

Member Review by ttutony:

A nice deep ruby color in the glass. Nose with cherry, smoke, oak, and some earthy character. Lush mouthfeel with fine tannins that are definitely present but are not overwhelming or overpowering. Fruit flavor on the palate is well-developed and complexes with the oak and earth nuances from the nose. Very well-balanced overall. I came very close to giving this wine a 4.5/5. A great value for the price. I am not usually a fan of merlot-heavy wines but I really enjoyed this one.
