Cousino Macul Sauvignon Gris Maipo Valley. Argentina 2009
The wine itself is a lovely deep ruby in the glass, and the nose is full of ample rich, ripe fruit, leather, cedar and anise. The taste is very dry all around, with some very subtle fruit, black currant and cherries, yielding to some mild spices midpalate. The finish is somewhat short, but bone dry, making this an ideal accompaniment to a variety of grilled meats and savory dishes. As a side note, it's advisable to let this wine breathe a bit before serving, it's not undrinkable straight from the bottle, but it does open up nicely with a half hour or so in the air. True Maipo aromas of tobacco, eucalyptus, earth and herbal berry lead to a full and rugged palate with plenty of tannic grip and loads of black fruit, cassis and chocolate flavors. Long and more chocolaty on the finish, with a touch of medicinality.
88 points - Josh Raynolds, Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar"Very light gold. Reticent aromas of lemon pith, herbs and honeysuckle. Fresh and tactile, with good tension to the pear, melon and dusty herb flavors. Slightly tight on the finish, which repeats the herb and lemon notes. I like this wine's energy." -March/April 2010

An expressive nose, with aromas of red berries and black cherries. In mouth, it is nice and fruity, with notes of ripe plum. Its rich acidity and soft tannins makes it a well structured and elegant wine.
Excellent quality from one of the most consistent wineries in Chile. This is a full-bodied, dark-fruited, earthy red wine with ripe tannins.
Blackberry, blueberry and a light toasted aroma, the taste has ablackberry basis assembled with laurel and tobacco leaves. The tanninsprovide an additional richness in the after taste mainly of ripe fruits, blended with a toasted flavour. It can be enjoyed now or kept for additionaltaste for a decade at least.
