Editorial Reviews for Cousiño-Macul Red Bordeaux Blend Finis Terrae
opaque dark ruby, nose in a much warmer register with baked cherries, funky moist earth, diesel exhaust, creosote, harb rubber, jammy blackberries, vitamins, gamy lamb with rosemary, impressive complexity if built apon a base of over-ripe fruit - bigger in the mouth, sweet yet not overtly fruity, acidity is a touch low, bit minty and vanilla indistinct dark fruits, drying finish is a bit pruny yet there are refreshing notes of chalk and tobacco/dried herbs, a long finish that turns loose and indistinct then returns with notes of green pepper and roasted fennel. I don't really like this wine, it has aromatics and flavors that i like and admirable complexity but it feels as though it was assembled. I know people who would like this though but for me it's not very good.

Wine Tasting NotesThe Cousino-Macul Finis Terrae is a wine of place. It is a clear reflection of the Maipo Valley terroir expressed through the finest Maipo-grown Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Dark garnet, this wine exhibits a complex aroma of blackberry fruit, with lovely highlights of violets, dark plum, cocoa powder and vanilla spice. On the palate the black fruits blossom and yield to flavors of cherry, rosemary and a hint of black truffle. The slightly firm tannins carry over into a lengthy, spicy finish. This wine can be cellared for at least a decade; and because it was bottled unfiltered, it will benefit from being decanted an hour before being served.
One of the best values in Cabernet Sauvignon. It has remarkable concentration and style with blackberry and plum fruit characteristics with notes of violets and chocolate. A Chilean First Growth.
Deep purple in color, this opaque-looking wine offers aromatics of fully ripened blackberries along with fragrances of cassis, mocha, wild berry, dark chocolate and anise. The texture is velvety and supple, and the multi-layered flavors are packed with ripe fruit, black currants, cola, with touches of cedar, espresso and toasted pecans. These interwoven flavors continue into the lengthy finish which reemphasized the consistent balance between fruit and toasty oak. Fine-grained tannins which indicate excellent aging potential are also an integral part of this seamless and polished package.
