Cousiño-Macul Red Bordeaux Blend Finis Terrae 2001

Winemaker's Notes:

Begining with its lovely purple colour, this wine is the epitome of elegance. Its rich multi-faceted aromas of black cherry, black berry, violets, sage, anise and vanilla are balanced by ripe plum, blueberry pie, mocha, and sage flavours. Medium-bodied, it has velvety tannins that are well-integrated and contribute to the wine's harmonious impression on the palate. Silky smooth with subtle hints of vanilla and spice in the finish, it drinks well now but can be cellared for close to a decade. Harmonies: Particularly complementary to roast wild duck, goose, partridge or hare. This also goes well with shank of beef, brisket casserole, coq au vin or roasted rib of beef. We recommend that this wine be decanted.
