Cousino-Macul Finis Terrae 2005

A dry, mild harvest that stayed with us until the end of April contributed tothe success of the 2005 red wine vintage in the Maipo Valley. The slowincremental development of the fruit gave the Cabernet Sauvignon andMerlot excellent balance between sugar content and phenolic maturity.Tighter spacing and green harvesting resulted in lower yields, and thisgave us intense yet elegantly structured red wines. Beginning with its lovely purple colour, this wine is the epitome ofelegance. Its rich multi-faceted aromas of black cherry, black berry,violets, sage, anise and vanilla are balanced read more...by ripe plum, blueberry pie,mocha, and sage flavours. Medium-bodied, it has velvety tannins that arewell-integrated and contribute to the wine's harmonious impression on thepalate. Deep and dark, this red blend is complex. Blackberries, violets and cocoa abound in the bouquet with cherries, rosemary and black truffle appearing on the palate. Lengthy, spicy finish with subtle tannins.
