Cousiño-Macul Cabernet Sauvignon 2007
Wine Tasting Notes Dark garnet in color, this Cabernet offers aromas and flavors highlighting red fruits and spices. Bing cherry, red currants, and boysenberry fruits predominate in the aroma and carry over into the flavors. Subtle mint, bay leaf and spices come through in the bright, refreshing finish.
This is a charming wine. The name reminds me of gris-gris which is of phrase of West African origin and refers to the use of charms, usually several together stored in a cloth sack and worn around the neck or otherwise on the body. It also implies a gray sauvignon blanc which makes me think of a gritty wine but this is absolutely not that -- it's a fine wine (as in texture). The grape may be gray but the wine color is pale yellow. I''m out of battery and will have to come back later and finish this when I can recharge...
straw colored, drier than most reislings, but you still get a hint of the characteristic sweetness. I would say more pineapple than tangerine, with a touch of spice on the tongue.
This wine has grown on me with each return to the bottle. Opened up the 2006 we brought back from the vineyard. Oaky, but not too much. Some grapefruit, best when it's very cold. Great by itself after dinner. Semi-dry I think.

Medium-weight, with a mix of cherry, black currant, grilled herb and tobacco notes that all linger through the easygoing finish. Drink now.
Excellent quality from one of the most consistent wineries in Chile. This is a full-bodied, dark-fruited, earthy red wine with ripe tannins.
This fruity Chardonnay has an attractive straw colour, with a few green tints typical of its youth. It has a clean expression of orange peel, mandarin and apple aromas with a tropical note of mango. In the background there are notes of jasmine and honeysuckle. Medium bodied, there are immediate juicy flavours of lemons, mandarins and, more subtly of limes. It is balanced, very vibrant and silky.
A cabernet in a classic style with notes of mocha, dried cherries, coffee and a bit of menthol. The palate is fresh with the soft elegance of fine, firm tannins. For roast short ribs.
One of the best values in Cabernet Sauvignon. It has remarkable concentration and style with blackberry and plum fruit characteristics with notes of violets and chocolate. A Chilean First Growth.
Opaque purple in colour, this Estate Cabernet offers aromatics of ripen blackberries, plum, herbs and cacao. Medium in body and light tannin, it captures the essence of Maipo Valley fruit. In the mouth, the flavours continue the blackberry-blueberry themes with hints of cassis and black olives. Its lingering finish echoes the black fruits and ends on a tangy cherry brightness. With time in the glass, this Cabernet unfolds beautifully, suggesting it can be enjoyed in its youth or cellared for 2 to 5 years.
