Retasted recently and this wine is progressing nicely. A lot more oak immediately upon opening than I remembered. After 20 mins in a decanter, the wine opens up to beautiful blueberry, black raspberry and even more blueberry notes aromas and flavors. The tiny amount of Petite Sirah is really coming across melded with the supple Cabernet. This blend should be great with a few more years age.

Winemaker's Notes:

The Dry Creek Valley, known primarily for its delicious Zinfandel, also produces very intense and flavorful Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. This impressive Cabernet displays compelling aromas of sweet cherry, lush plum, and roses. The opulence of this wine shines through with a harmonious core of silky smooth tannins and rich fruit. Palate filling flavors of sweet currant, black cherry, and cocoa are perfectly balanced. This delicious wine should age beautifully for a decade or more. Grapes 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot, 4% Malbec, 3% Cabernet Franc Appellation: Dry Creek Valley Fermentation: Fermented 20 days (on skins) at 83º F Barrel Aging: 20 months in French and American oak Alcohol: 13.5% Total Acidity: 0.61 pH: 3.73 Residual Sugar: Dry Aging Potential: 8 - 12 years
