Food Pairings for Couly-Dutheil Chinon
External Reviews for Couly-Dutheil Chinon
Domaine Rene Couly sits on some of the best soils in the Chinon AOC. Unusual for the Loire Valley, Chinon produces wines that are quintessential spicy reds. This 100% Cabernet Franc pairs well with grilled meat and barbeque dishes. It was in 1921 that Baptiste Dutheil founded the vineyard now called Domaine Rene Couly. The business is now owned by the fourth generation of the family. The Chinon AOC, situated near Touraine in the Loire Valley is known for its spicy red wines made from Cabernet Franc, and is one of the leading districts. The region has all the qualities of great soils and an exceptionally mild climate with long sunny periods. This allows the grape to express all its fineness. The family vinifies 130 of Chinon's 2000 hectares spread among three areas. Their soil quality contributes to their quest for perfection in maturing.
