This is violet in color, with blueberry aromas as well as notes of juniper and pine. It has a smooth mouthfeel, more than adequate weight and power, and dominant but fresh black-fruit flavors that turn syrupy as the wine breathes. Overall, it’s very flavorful but jammy. Drink now–2015.

Mellow and fruit forward, the Coto de Hayas is comprised of Old Vine Garnacha from vines planted at the turn of the century. Soft black cherry and ripe summer strawberry are the major fruit notes, and the back end is balanced with anise and black pepper.

This fleshy red delivers a rich core of blackberry and blueberry compote, accented by toasty vanilla, sweet licorice and cinnamon spice. Well-integrated tannins give this backbone. A bold, modern style. Drink now through 2017.
