Cote Rotie Eglantine Ferraton Pere et Fils 2015

Winemaker's Notes:

94-96 Points, Jeb Dunnuck, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The team at Ferraton makes two Côte Rôties, both of which are brilliant examples of the quality now coming from this estate. The slightly larger production cuvée is the 2015 Côte Rôtie l’Eglantine, which comes from schist soils and is aged in older barrels. It offers a perfumed, Asian spice, dried flower, graphite, and red and black fruit-driven bouquet, as well as full-bodied richness and ultra-fine tannin." 12/16 #228

LIMITED AVAILABILITY Georges Vernay is known as the King of Condrieu and was responsible for the growth and worldwide recognition of this small appellation during the 1950s.His estate covers 16 hectares of vineyards, 3 of which are in the Cote Rotie appellation. The steep and uneven vineyards make mechanical labour impossible. The vines are manually propagated without the use of residual herbicide or insecticide. George s daughter, Christine, returned to her roots with Paul Anselem, her Parisian husband, and has looked after the winemaking since 1997. Grapes: 90% Syrah and 10% Viognier Region: France / Rhone / Cote Rotie AOC Maker: Christine Vernay Notes: Benchmark Syrah style of smoky black olives with great power and structure. Smooth and elegant on the palate and the long finish ABV: 12.5%

The hallmarks of a fine Côte-Rôtie are finesse and floral fruit. This red is possessed of both of these qualities, and will keep evolving gloriously for decades.

The rarest of the rare, these single vineyard Cote Rotie's from Guigal are the three of most collectible wines in the world. We only received one bottles of each to sell. They are incredibly powerful, concentrated and layered and typically take 10 years of cellaring before they reveal all of their true complexities. La Turque is the smallest vineyard, just 2.5 acres. not sponsored by or affiliated with The Wine Spectator, The Wine Advocate or the International Wine Cellar. A wild Rhône wine that boasts a musky, blood like character alongside dense brooding licorice and black berries. Structured, vibrant and a real show stopper if you're looking for real wine from the northern Rhône.

A tradtional wine from the Côte-Rôtie with a beautiful bouquet.
