Cos D Estournel Blanc 2015

Winemaker's Notes:

94-95 Points, James Suckling: "A dense and pretty white with sliced apple, pear and pineapple. Full body and very fresh. Tangy and bright. Lovely energy to this." 4/16 91-93 Points, Neal Martin, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2015 Cos d'Estournel Blanc is a blend of 75% Sauvignon Blanc and 25% Sémillon, picked between 14 and 29 September at a low 29 hl/ha. It has a charming bouquet with lime flower, apricot blossom and just a touch of blood orange. There is a sprightliness to this wine. The palate is crisp and fresh with a fine bead of acidity, plenty of tension here and perhaps more precision than previous vintages that I have tasted since its debut. I like the flow of energy here. This is an excellent Cos d'Estournel Blanc that should age with style and panache." 4/16 #224 90-92 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous: "The 2015 Cos d'Estournel Blanc is brisk and nicely focused throughout. This is a beautiful, classy wine endowed with lovely energy and overall tension. In this vintage, the emphasis seems to have been on maintaining freshness, which comes through in the wine's vivacity. Green orchard fruit, sage and mint add the closing shades of nuance." 4/16

Chateau Cos d'Estournel:
Born in 1762 during the reign of Louis XV and died in 1853 under Napoleon III, at the remarkable age of 91, Louis Gaspard d'Estournel had one sole passion: Cos. Having inherited a few vines near the village of Cos, he recognized, in 1811, the quality of their wine and decided to vinify them separately.
