Corton Charlemagne Joseph Drouhin 95 Jg 2009
"Pale green-tinged yellow. Cool, brisk nose offers lime blossom, botanical herbs, violet, clove and powdered stone. Densely packed and penetrating, with dry stony and menthol elements that are almost painful today in their austerity. The stunning nose soars from the glass in a blaze of apples, lemon peel, stony minerality, dried flowers (even a touch of violet), vanillin oak and a whisper of youthful Corton Charlie herbal tones. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very reserved in its profile, with a rock solid core of fruit, brisk acids and great length and race on the soil-driven finish. A great, great wine in the making...95" JG 11/10
