Winemaker's Notes:

"Fresh, wonderfully, organically pure and perfumed plum and red/black berrynotes, hint of meat, of smoke, of herb: suave, delicate, pure, claret-likefreshness and juicy berry appeal at a modest 12.5%, deliciously cleansingacidity, super smooth tannins, grilled meat and black berry flavours make thisa fabulously welcome and versatile wine for any supper dish. Drinking now till2012. Bravo Marinella!" (David Berry Green, BBR Buyer)

From one of our favorite Amarone producers comes this stellar ''baby'' Amarone known simply as Valpolicella. A spicey red wine with fleshy dark berries, cherry wood and a note of cedar. Medium-bodied and mineraled on the finish and ideal with rich fare.

The 2007 Valpolicella Ca'Fiui is an absolutely beautiful, perfumed wine from Veneto. Silky tannins frame a core of red raspberries all the way through to the long finish. This, too, is an elegant and refined wine, especially at this level.
