Corté Riva Cabernet Franc 2006
Nose of espresso roast, plum and black cherry. Big and chunky, fleshy and hedonistic merlot. Big and bold and heavy, but nicely complex and deep. It's got that signature Pride Mountain style power and texture. Very good! - Tasted at Marché Bacchus 5/8/10
I found this a very odd cab. More akin to a smoky southern Rhone wine. It had a very toasted quality which I think overpowered the cab qualities. Wasn't for me, but a lot of people at the tasting were really enjoying it. Marche Bacchus in Las Vegas has it for a bargain price of $29.
Deep dark color with purple tinged edges. The nose is pure cab with cassis & dark cherry cola. This is not as big and flamboyant as one would expect from a Foley wine. It'sis very clean, pure and exact. The palate has the same dark cherry cola that stands out above all else. Great structure and mouthfeel. Elegant with a 'quiet lush' profile, all with a very lively acid level. The tannins are super tight. An interesting bottle that will please even the super-picky ca drinker. This will be amazing in 5 years. Amazing
