Cornerstone Cellars Cabernet Franc Stepping Stone Howell Mountain(1999)

Cabernet Franc is typically used as a blending grape for its aromatic component, but we like it on its own precisely because of its provocative nose. This vineyard is on the valley floor near Yountville and the fruit is sustainably grown. The grapes hang until very ripe, accentuating the black cherry and raspberry flavors on the palate with spicy notes of tarragon, black pepper, sandalwood and fragrant roses in the aromas. This Cabernet Franc is big, ripe and complex with a rich, creamy finish- - meant for steaks and chops. 1,023 cases produced
