This is very meaty. Dry dusty tannins with enough acidity to pair well with tomato sauce based pasta dishes.
I bought this bottle of wine for ten pounds.Chateau Aussieres [www.aussieres.com] is a very large 550 hectare estate with a long history,located near Narbonne in the South of France that was bought by the Rothschild family in the late 1990's and they have subsequently invested a great deal of time,money and effort in improvement.Blason D'Aussieres is the second wine.It is an AOC Corbieries made up of 40% syrah,30% grenache,20% mourverde and 10%carrignan and 20% of the wine gets matured in oak barrels.I drank the wine the other evening with my home-made coq-au-vin.I thought it a very nice wine with soft tannins,plenty of fruit [think plums or blackcurrants] and a hint of spice.
