Coppola Directors Cabernet Sauvignon 2011

Winemaker's Notes:

Coppola Diamond Series always delivers great quality at a great price. They source their Syrah/Shiraz from specific vineyards in the Central Coast in California, which is given richer complexity by a small amount of Petite Sirah added to the blend. The 2011 Copppla Diamond Series Syrah/Shiraz has a deep garnet color with aromas of plums, raspberries with hints of cloves and minerality.

This Zinfandel offers texture and body plus an exotic perfume of berries, cherry liqueur and anise. Sweet, juicy impressions of plums and mixed berries mingle with notes of chocolate and nutmeg. You'll also detect a hint of sandalwood.

Our Blue Label Merlot has brilliant, deep garnet color with aromas of bright red cherries and clove spice. Supple red plum and black cherry flavors highlight the palate, with subtle notes of light milk chocolate and vanilla bean evident on the long finish.

With our Zinfandel fruit, we use a punch down technique to extract the maximum amount of color from the grapes. Small amounts of Petite Sirah are added to the blend to create a sturdier structure and more complexity. With this wine, we enjoyed using a combination of French and American oak barrels because we have a very good American oak supplier whose barrels impart a rich mocha-espresso nuance that really blends well with our wine. Our 2011 Zinfandel offers texture and body plus an exotic perfume of marion berries, cherry liqueur and anise. Sweet, juicy impressions of plums and mixed berries mingle with notes of chocolate and nutmeg. You'll also detect a hint of sandalwood. - WineryBlend: 78% Zinfandel22% Petite Sirah Barrel regimen: 13 months in French oak, 20% new, 80% 1-2 years oldAlcohol: 14.4%
