Cooper Noche NV
This dessert wine is infused with chocolate. The result is a sweet red wine with a chocolate aftertaste. Again, it manages to miss the syrupy tendency of some dessert wines and instead tastes of berries on the front and chocolate on the finish. This wine is a delicious finish to a meal alone, but would also be delicious drizzled over berries or cheesecake.
Really smooth, wonderful chocolate finish.
Interesting flavor, not cloyingly sweet as I was afraid it would be. The norton base blends with the chocolate flavor to give it almost a chocolate-cherry note. Very smooth finish.
The smell alone is intoxicating and the finish very smooth. Agree that it is not so sweet as to be syrupy...best to drink it very cold. Can be difficult to find but worth the search, just glad I live the next county over from Cooper Vineyards. My husband is a chef and has used this in a reduction over chocolate cake. Please note that this winery is in Virginia, not California although there is also a Cooper Vineyard in CA.
