I was a bit concerned about popping the cork on this one, as I'd had some previous efforts from Cooper Mountain that left me underwhelmed. That, of course, made this tasting all the more pleasant of a surprise. This is a medium bodied pinot made for easy drinking and/or simple food preparations. The acidity is remarkably lively, giving it a bright, zesty feel. Strong and layered notes of sweet-tart raspberries dominate the palate, accompanied by cherry and the faintest tang of minerality. Tannins are subtle and well-integrated.
