Conway Deep Sea Chardonnay la Costa Wine Co 2008
The 2008 Deep Sea Chardonnay is golden and clear. The nose shows a mix of fresh citrus, with a background of pear and apple, fresh dough and honey, all layered with some minerality. The smooth entrance shows a soft, balanced wine with notes of citrus, apple tart, and just enough oak to add another layer of complexity that includes vanilla and toffee, complemented with crisp acidity.

Editorial Reviews for Conway Deep Sea Chardonnay la Costa Wine Co
The nose offers up very ripe tropical pineapple and lime fruits tinged with vanilla and a touch of minty balsam and Asian pear. A bit narrowly focused in the mouth but with a rich mid-palate that features bright, edgy citrus fruit. It’s got a bit of sweetness on the palate, which may just be the alcohol talking, but finishes dry, if short. 85pts
Banana and papaya on the nose with good acidity. Very oaky finish.
Fairly strong citrus aroma, with a banana aftertaste: an interesting combination. Definitely worth a taste !
The Deep Sea Chardonnay is the PERFECT summer Chard-nice acid, a touch of vanilla-take it to the beach, drink it with oysters, or pair with a bucket of crab legs and you will love it!
Tropical nose, a bit of butter, with a metallic papaya mouth, which is kind of pleasant. There's something that's medicinal about it.
Mellow citrus nose. Soft and complex acidic mouthfeel. Very nice.
Gooseberries on the nose. An exceptionally oily, emollient mouth feel. Very mineral. Finishes with a light oakiness. Strong banana notes on the mid-palate.
This wine has a very spicy nose, with lots of citrus. The finish is consistent, I'm getting wasabi, orange and pepper. This was a little bit too bitter for my liking, but still refreshing.
