Jesus Madrazo marries the new and old Spain with this single vineyard wine, itscharacter informed by old vines and a combination of French and Spanish oak.Aged in barrels for two years and in bottle forfurther year inbottle, this is a blend of Tempranillo 85%, Mazuelo garnacha 5%, Graciano10% of selected plots in the Contino Estate. Deep red cherry colour, on nose anexplosion of ripe berry fruits and hints of liquorice and balsamic notes. The2001 has the substance and the intensity to last until2018. It is in itsinfancy, its fuits both red and black, its tannins still quite assertive Wait afew years then try with Beef Wellington!
