Lots of plum, cedar and light toasted oak that turns toward meaty aromas. Full-bodied, with soft, silky tannins and a long, rich, fruity aftertaste. Best after 2007. Wine Spectator. A Nebbiolo wine from Piedmont in Italy. 2001 Conterno, Aldo Barolo Bussia 750ml

Winemaker's Notes:

92 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): Medium red. Classic, pure aromas of minerals, white truffle, tobacco and damp earth, lifted by a floral nuance. Offers terrific energy and verve in the mouth, with its sweetness nicely leavened by sappy, harmonious acidity. Finishes very long and juicy, with wonderfully smooth, silky tannins and vibrant notes of fruits and minerals. (Nov/Dec 2004)
