External Review by Wine Gems @ Perriello's:

Marche, ItalyConte Leopardi Castelverde Verdicchio is a white wine gem from the Marche region of central Italy. The wine is 100% Verdicchio and its official classification is Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico. The Leopardi Ditajuti family traces its ancestry to the 3rd century AD. Conte Piervittorio Leopardi is a rising star in the US market who has been quietly making some of the best wines in the Marche. Only 4000 cases were produced. Conte Leopardi Castelverde Verdicchio is straw yellow in color with beautiful floral aromatics atypical of this varietal and pleasing flavors of peaches, pears, citrus, mineral notes and almonds. It is medium-bodied with crisp acidity and good structure. The wine is well balanced to enjoy now and over the next 3-5 years. It is clean and refreshing on the palate, and leaves a long, pleasing finish.Enjoy Conte Leopardi Castelverde Verdicchio with baked halibut, grilled chicken, risotto, pasta and mild cheeses.
