Cono Sur Reserva Especial Gewürztraminer 2011
A bright and unique Gewürztraminer from Casablanca valley, which because of its closeness to the Pacific Ocean, is a suited origin for cold climate varieties. This is a complex, rich and intensely aromatic wine, whose nose is elegant and fruity, with strong flower notes. In mouth it’s sophisticated and creamy, with complex litchee flavours, stone fruits and a soft mineral ending. Food Pairing Our Reserva Gewürztraminer is a great option to serve chilled as an aperitif or to complement delicate-flavoured shellfish, oriental dishes, bittersweet combinations and desserts. A great combination is tempura shrimps with bittersweet sauce, served next to sweet potatoes.
Editorial Reviews for Cono Sur Reserva Especial Gewürztraminer
Sweet black and blue fruits wrapped i sweet toasty oak spice notes greet the nose. The oak is a touch aggressive on the nose and air brings out a smoky, charry edge. Rich and dense in the mouth this offers up edgy blueberry and blackcurrant flavors layered over cedary oak and dried herb tones. the acidity is well integrated and the tannins a bit dry and splintery at this stage, and wood driven. There’s a lot of oak on this on the backend and the moderately long black berry tinged finish. This is powerful and rich and unabashedly oaky. Don’t wait too long to drink this, the oak will outlive the fruit. 86pts

Very typical for a cab/carmenere blend - toasted chocolate notes with red chili pepper, very mild musky and dark earth aromas. Sharp red + black berry fruit comes through on the palate, mild body with good supporting tannins, with some vegetative bitterness on the finish.

Light-bodied, but with honest grip supporting the red and black cherry fruit and briary, vanilla-tinged finish. Drink now.
Ruby-red. Fresh blackberry and cherry aromas are complicated by hints of underbrush and licorice. Juicy and ripe on entry, with lively acidity giving focus and definition to the sweet dark fruit, coffee and chocolate flavors. Could use a bit more heft but this is a very approachable and easy-drinking cabernet.
