The only wine currently in my cellar that even comes close is the 98 Heitz Cellars Bella Oaks Vineyard Cab. There are no harsh edges, and the nose is so good you almost forget to stop smelling and start drinking.

Very dark opaque in the glass. Mellow, some wood on the nose. Not as full bodied as I might have expected on the palate. Somewhat tart. Still some very serious tannins. Some cherry flavoring emerging on the second sip. Definitely a wine that is going to go better with food. I am going to test the above reviewer's recommendation and have this with lamb chops for dinner, tonight. US$45.00 at the winery in 2004. [Amendment on 4/20/12. Oh Yes. An hour of air definitely helped this wine and mating it with the Lamb Chops was outstanding. The tannin/acid harshnesses mellowed and the wine became rounder. I am upgrading my rating to 3-1/2 glasses.]

The 2010 Proprietary Red Anthology is outstanding. Rich and full-bodied with lots of black fruits, sweet tannin, a layered mouthfeel, and good purity, elegance and richness make for an impressive wine. Overall, this was the finest portfolio of Conn Creek wines I have tasted in many years. Blackberries and plums nestle among cocoa, anise and wildflowers. On the palate a bright opening of black currants leads to a lingering finish of rich chocolaty tannins. - Mike McGrath, WinemakerBlend:78% Cabernet Sauvignon8% Petite Verdot7% Cabernet Franc4% Merlot3% MalbecAging: 21 months in French Oak (43% new)Alcohol: 14.5 %Total Acidity: 0.57 g /100mLpH: 3.75

This wine delivers a spiced-laden bouquet of berries, violets and vanilla. Juicy and unctuous, the fruity and floral flavors blossom with time in the glass, and finish with an exotic spiciness that will leave you wanting another glass.

It s a very good wine, sumptuous in fruit and easily likeable for its soft texture and upfront berry and chocolate flavors.

Napa is a Native American word for plenty, and there could not be a more appropriate word when it comes to the complexity and flavor of Conn Creek wines.

WE 90pts. - Winemaker Notes - The 2006 Anthology is rich, smooth and spicy, a delicious wine. Mature cherry flavors and concentrated cassis fruits are brought to focus with cedar, and vanillin spiced accents. Graceful and powerful, the lingering flavors are unctuous and seemingly endless. Sourcing grapes from most of Napa Valley s 14 appellations provides us with many alternatives when it comes to composing our pinnacle wine blend. The 2006 Anthology includes vineyard lots selected from the following appellations: Cabernet Sauvignon: Mount Veeder- Newton, Spring Mountain, Atlas Peak, Stags Leap District, Rutherford, St Helena Cabernet Franc: St Helena-Carpenter, Atlas Peak-Stagecoach. Merlot: St Helena- Collins, Atlas Peak- Stagecoach Petit Verdot: Yountville- Tall Trees Malbec: Yountville- Herrick.
