Lovely nose with peach and citrus fruits accented with a pretty gardenia floral perfume and slightly salty soil nuances. Lean and transparent on entry with nice mouth filling fruit, solid integrated acids and a light gossamer feel. The fruit here is fresh, if a bit low intensity, but it allows the mineral and almost salty notes to pop on the backend which leads to a fine, fresh mineral-topped finish with a light burst of grapefruitiness on the finale. 88pts

A little subdued on the nose with a bit of waxiness to the peach, mineral and floral aromatics that show a touch of heat. Nicely focused up front with good richness of fruit, pear and peach supported by solid, integrated acidity. The texture is a touch viscous on the palate and the aromatic waxiness persists in the mouth, but here it’s offset a bit by some lovely fruit and floral notes. The finish is short with an initial burst of fruit that just drops off. 87pts

Sea air on the nose. It has a lot of salinity. Subdued tropical and light stone fruit aromas. Some kiwi and lime. Plenty of minerality. Good weight and acid on the palate. Well balanced, with juicy mango flavors, feeling lush on the tongue. Some mineral tones and suggestions of herbs. Nice, juicy finish.

Wet and zesty white wine from Northwest Spain? Sounds good to us. Salneval is from Condes de Albarei, and it offers perfectly proper peach, melon and pastry aromas. The palate is lithe and fresh, with orange and apple. Yes, itrsquo;s straightforward and common. But it is also clean, balanced and will drink well with all sorts of finger foods, salads and seafood.

Salneval is the so-called baby Albarintilde;o from Condes de Albarei, and itrsquo;s lively and complete. Aromas of honeydew and peach nectar are appropriate and welcoming, while the apple, orange and pineapple flavors are fresh and agile. A wine for salads and seafood.

Light gold. Aromas and flavors of pear, tangerine and ginger, with a white pepper accent. Fleshy but dry, with good finishing breadth and a touch of closing heat.

This is a bright and aromatic wine with flavors of pineapple, lychee and minerals. On the palate itandrsquo;s very fresh and fruity, with good acidity and a long finish. It has a creamy texture without being overly heavy. Pair this wine with Arroz con Pollo.

The ldquo;valuerdquo; label from Condes de Albarei is always a good bet. Oceanic aromas and a spritz of lime make the nose just right, and the lively palate of lemon, melon and banana is charged up. Tight on the finish, with citrus and almond skins, and then a lasting impression of pineapple. Young and raring to go.

Winemaker's Notes:

The character of the wine is expressed entirely in this wine, where fruit is the predominant note. Grapes have been respectfully cared for in all steps of winemaking. After careful grape selection at harvest in the vineyard, the grapes are transported to the winery in small plastic crates. After a delicate extraction and settling of the grape juice, a long fermentation is made at a low temperature.

Tasting Notes:

Albariño’s many facets seem to arise both from the subregion in Rías Baixas where the grapes are grown and from the winemakers’ decisions, especially to utilize (or not) lees in contact with the wine. Albarei offers a clean, citrusy, mineral-laden version of the grape, reflective of the cool and wet Val do Salnés subregion. It's ideal for all kinds of shellfish, among other foods.
