What to Expect

Syrah: One of the few grapes to really be a global success. Syrah combines a meaty core of ripe berry fruit with tones that range from herbal to peppery in a package that tends to be medium bodied with good acidity and softer tannins. With age the wines can gain lovely leathery and black olive notes that make them a great match for savory and gamy dishes.

Reviews

Another mass produced wine from Concha y Toro. Runs about $8-$9 for a magnum. Medium bodied with a meaty mouth feel. Hints of black pepper and other spices with a burnt or roasted background taste. Subtle but sweet tannins. Finish is muted and leaves rather quickly. Not a bad wine to drink if you want to drink a lot of wine and don't have much money. If your looking to get the real "Shiraz experience", I would look elsewhere (probably Australia or better yet, Northern Rhone if you got some cash to spare)
