Editorial Reviews for Concha Y Toro Red Blend Cachapoal Valley Trio Reserva
This is full of tropical fruit on the nose with smoky, toasty, spicy woody notes and a touch of sweaty over-ripeness to the fruit. In the mouth this is rich and fairly fat with a soft feel. The mid-palate is fairly sweet with notes or caramel popcorn over the tropical fruits. The woodiness on the finish comes off as a bit bitter after the sweetness of the mid-palate. 84pts
User Reviews for Concha Y Toro Red Blend Cachapoal Valley Trio Reserva
Add your review**This was suppose to be posted under the 2007 Concha Y Toro Shiraz Frontera ** http://www.snooth.com/wine/concha-y-toro-syrah-frontera-2007/ Another mass produced wine from Concha y Toro. Runs about $8-$9 for a magnum. Medium bodied with a meaty mouth feel. Hints of black pepper and other spices with a burnt or roasted background taste. Subtle but sweet tannins. Finish is muted and leaves rather quickly. Not a bad wine to drink if you want to drink a lot of wine and don't have much money. If your looking to get the real "Shiraz experience", I would look elsewhere (probably Australia or better yet, Northern Rhone if you got some cash to spare)
This is a cheap chardonnay and you get exactly what you pay for. I bought this one to use in making risotto and had a little left over so I tried it. Not much on the nose. Some hints of herbs or spices, possibly clove and a slight touch of vanilla. I did not chill it so maybe that would help but I don't think it will produce miracles.
WS gave it a 91. All the best chardonnay qualities were exemplified in this wine. Delicious!! - Tasted 9/12/09 Marche' Bacchus
Winemaker's Notes:
Named after Don Melchor’s wife, this wine is made by Ignacio Recabarren and aims to be the best Chardonnay from Casablanca Valley, blending barrel-fermented richness with concentration, purity and elegance of fruit. This is Concha y Toro's flagship white, and as such has been lavished with much care and attention. 'Amelia' displays a bright light yellow colour with green hues. On the nose, this Chardonnay is characterized by a strong character and elegant , mineral, heavy burgundy style. A good balance on the palate, with mouth filling fresh and long acidity. This has figy aromas and it is persistent and juicy. Excellent with seasoned fish and sushi and thai food.
