Concha Y Toro Merlot Peumo Marqués de Casa Concha 2000

Winemaker's Notes:

This vintage is coming into it’s own right now and drinking very well. It has a very dark purple color that holds all the way to the rim. The nose on this wine (after an hour in the decanter) is cassis and clove. Most of the earthy tones fall off after some time in the decanter. You really must give this wine some time to breathe to full enjoy it. The flavor structure is complex with cassis, prune, blackberry and tobacco all working nicely together. Tannins are fine and well integrated.

The barrel sample of the 2000 Don Melchor I tasted was medium to dark ruby/purple-colored. It reveals candied red fruit aromas and a majestically concentrated character. This jammy, cherry and raspberry-flavored wine has outstanding potential. It is ... Robert Parkers Wine Advocate.
