Winemaker's Notes:

Concha y Toro has a team of talented winemakers working in some of the best vineyard sites in Chile have produced a superb range of red, white and rosé wines. A unique climate, perfect growing conditions and pre-phylloxera vines combine to produce the ripe fruit that has put Chile on the map. The quality of the entire Concha y Toro range is outstanding and represents excellent value. Maycas del Limarí is the first super premium winery from Viña Concha y Toro Group. This is quite marked by soil tones with a bit of diesel sulfur covering some of the floral, herbal and grilled beef tones. This is slightly peppery but showing more mace and cocoa with a bit of thin mints. Broad and a bit loose in the mouth, this has decent acidity but lacks some structure. The fruit is fresh and intense with a nice, slightly extract wild berry/mulberry quality and some wood spice and tannin emerging on the back end. Finishes rather short and tight, may just be too young but this is at least in an awkward phase today. 87pts
