This review is for the 2006 Merlot. Some of the reviews are clearly not for this wine, but probably other varietals from this winery. I am not a Merlot fan, but this is fantastic. Great nose, dark berries, leather, spice. Smells a lot like a Zin. On the palate again very dark berry, leather, spice, and a bit of smoke. Great surprise. Would definitely buy again.

Неплохое мерло. В аромате красные ягоды и кедр. Вкус полнотелый сбалансированный, многовато древесины

This is a consistently good wine for the price. Good body, would not be embarrassed to serve to most discrminiating friends.

I love the hints of chocolate and toasty oak.

Wine Spectator ReviewRated 90Well-defined, with a range of green and yellow apple, lime and floral notes supported by judicious toast, which allows a good minerally edge to emerge on the finish. Drink now through 2009.Wine Tasting NotesClean and bright. Light yellow. Combining richness with elegance and vibrancy this ripe, delicious wine serves up tasty pear, fig and toasty hazelnut. Deeply concentrated with silky texture and layers of ripe, opulent fig, pear and hazelnut. It finishes with a long and vibrant character.

Lovely cassis and plum flavors, with hints of vanilla bean and herbs, and a fleshy yet elegant, smoky finish. Very nice. Concha y Toro is really rolling these days. Terrific quality-price ratio. Drink now through 2003.

From the Peumo vineyards in Chile's Rapel Valley, this limited production Merlot has been barrel-aged in French oak for fourteen months. Its intense plum and cherry aromas and flavors evoke the Peumo terrior; the wood adds generous hints of chocolate and vanilla.

Smoky and ripe, with black currant and plum flavors, hints of herbs, cocoa and toast, and a fleshy, mouthfilling finish. Feels like it has the stuffing to cellar a bit too. This label is really strong these days. drink now through 2005.

Fleshy and ripe, with plum and black currant fruit offset by nice cocoa powder and mineral notes. Hint of loam as well. Drink now through 2006.

Concha y Toro is making a big, burly Merlot for this line and it should have mass appeal given how rich, extracted and oaky it is. The nose is dense as chocolate cake and deep as well. The mouth is chewy and thick, with chocolate-covered berries and another whack of wood.
