What to Expect

Chardonnay is America's most popular grape and with good reason. Made in styles that range from steely, mineral laced wines with crisp green apple fruit to wines that are buttery, rich, and laden with tropical fruits, there is a Chardonnay that will appeal to every palate. Chardonnay is most closely associated with France's Burgundy region and California's Northern valleys though it has proven successful around the globe.

Another mass produced wine from Concha y Toro. Runs about $8-$9 for a magnum. Medium bodied with a meaty mouth feel. Hints of black pepper and other spices with a burnt or roasted background taste. Subtle but sweet tannins. Finish is muted and leaves rather quickly. Not a bad wine to drink if you want to drink a lot of read more...

This is a cheap chardonnay and you get exactly what you pay for. I bought this one to use in making risotto and had a little left over so I tried it. Not much on the nose. Some hints of herbs or spices, possibly clove and a slight touch of vanilla. I did not chill it so maybe that would help but I don't think it will produce miracles.
