Deep ruby color. Wonderful blackcurrant, black cherry, and raspberry fruit and hints of mint. Chocolate notes, well integrated oak, velvety tannins, and medium acidity. Excellent length.

I'm quite impressed with this wine. It's juicy, succulent. Medium to full bodied. Slightly dry on the finish. It generally denotes a much more aged feel for a 2008. Your definitely getting you dollars worth here. It's sweet but not sweet, very well balanced. It reminds me of some much more expensive Napa Valley wines. Very smooth!

Chilean wine giant Concha y Toro produces several different brands; one of the most consistent values is the Marqués de Casa Concha series. This fresh and focused wine is 100 percent Cabernet Sauvignon, aged for 18 months in 35 percent new oak barriques from France. It shows ripe varietal flavors of cassis, blackberry and boysenberry, accented by vanilla, mineral and cocoa notes.

Inky ruby. A complex bouquet displays red - and blackcurrant, dark cherry, tobacco and incense. Fleshy, finely etched red and dark berry flavors stain the palate and are firmed by juicy acidity. Becomes sweeter with air, finishing with excellent clarity and lingering sweetness. This will reward patience.

Concentrated, with a solid core of black currant, fig and hoisin sauce notes, all layered with alluring bittersweet cocoa, espresso and roasted vanilla, followed by a long, fine-grained finish. Drink now through 2010.

Rock-solid, with dark currant, fig and blackberry fruit flavors supported by briar, licorice snap and coffee notes. The long, muscular finish should soften with moderate cellaring. Drink now through 2012.

The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Marques de Casa Concha spent 14 months in French oak. Alluring aromas of cedar, lavender, blackcurrant and blackberry are followed by a plush, layered, succulent wine with gobs of black fruit, ripe tannin, and 2-3 years of aging potential. It is a great value.

Stands out for its fruit quality, balance and structure. The nose is strong and piercing, with charred notes, black-fruit aromas and depth. Ripe and clean in the mouth, with elevated blackberry flavors and a chewy, meaty mouthfeel. Toasty and tasting of black licorice on the finish. A serious, well-made Chilean Cab to drink now through 2012.

Inky purple. Extremely fruity nose offers an explosive bouquet of blackberry, plum jam, licorice and mocha. Round, sweet and supple, with deep dark berry liqueur flavors and slow-building tannins. Turns a bit drier on the finish, where the tannins give the wine a slightly clenched impression

Winemaker's Notes:

A bouquet of fine black currants and black plums with hints of toasty French oak. Marques de Casa Concha Cabernet Sauvignon is an outstanding dark ruby red wine. The wine is aged for 18 months in one-, two- and three-year-old French oak barrels, and then aged a further 2 months after bottling. It is an appetizing, smooth, well-rounded and tasteful wine. It is well-balanced with a long finish. Enjoy this fine Cabernet Sauvignon with red meats, cheeses and pasta.
