Concannon Vineyard Syrah Livermore Valley Limited Reserve 2004

Winemaker's Notes:

Concannon Vineyard produces Stampmaker's Syrah in honor of the late James Concannon, the founder of our winery who made his fortune selling rubber stamps in the early 1880s. Ripe, red currant and smoky molasses character on the nose, continuing with flavors of plum, ripe cherries, and rose on the palate. The wine finishes with a hint of toasted walnut and spice flavors of cinnamon and cardamom. Approachable and ready to drink now yet will age well for at least 5 years after release. Enjoy with rosemary-spiced rack of lamb, baby artichokes with pomegranate vinaigrette or strip steak with pepper cream sauce. "Best Buys in the Market … easily earns inclusion on our roster of good values." - (Connoisseurs Guide to California Wines, vintage 2003

They could speak, the rocks of Concannon Vineyard would tell a tale rich in history. Concannon’s treasured contributions to winemaking have positioned it as landmark winery with an enduring commitment to creating outstanding, award-winning wines. We have a history of proud firsts. We were one of the first wineries to pioneer Bordeaux and Rhone-styled wines in California. We are the home of America's first successful Irish vintner, the world's first Petite Sirah and world-class wines from our fruitful, rocky soil. As a founding family of California wines, Concannon created the hardworking Cabernet Sauvignon Clones 7 and 8, which helped plant much of Napa in the 1970s. Pioneering founder, James Concannon, began making wine in the Livermore Valley in 1883. Now, his passion for family and fine wine is evident in every aspect of Concannon Vineyard and we’re fortunate to share it with you today. Read less
