Concannon Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc Monterey County Reserve 2009
Member Review by Zuiko:
Fairly light in color for a late harvest wine. Slight botrytis in the nose but not much else. Just a shadow of what Concannon has produced in LH wines in the past. Minimal fruit, short finish. Probably worth $4/ 375ml bottle. My rating -- 81

California’s Central Coast offers unmatched blending diversity from its multitude of microclimates. Cool region grapes contribute distinctive fresh fruit nuances and warm region grapes add depth of flavor and complexity. This highly acclaimed wine takes no shortcuts and is easily worth twice its modest price. Thee 2008 Sauvignon Blanc, Selected Vineyards is a crisp and refreshing, food-friendly wine. This wine has a brilliant straw hue with a complex nose of fig, melon, lemon and lime. Cool stainless steel fermentation keeps the flavors bright and lively, and the medium body is slightly rounded in feel, leading to a crisp finish.
