Food Pairings for Concannon Vineyard Pinot Noir Central Coast
Ok for the price, but definitely not a favorite.
Light color that is common to pinot noirs. Subtle nose of red berry aromas. Light bodied and delicate with hints of cherries and notes of coffee and a touch of citrus. Simple but delicious.
if you are looking for a pinot noir bottle of wine that won't let you down, given the fact the you spend $9.29 for the world's most difficult wine to make, this is your way to go. It has a clear color, very pinot-noir-like. On the nose, I get the typical pinot noir flavours. Black berries, earthiness or wood-like flavour (whichever makes more sense to you) and a hint of spice. However, this doesn't fully live up to the way it tastes! It is almost unfelt on the midpalate. It doesn't have a lot of character. Sure thing, not tannins (or you may find them if you are a wine expert.) I would recommend this wine to beginners for the sake of expanding palates. But again for a $9.29 pinot noir bottle of wine, this is definitely a steel. I am 86+ on this effort. Happy drinking!
We were pleasantly surprised with this wine - I agree with the cherry flavors that others mentioned. It's not too acidic, and has a nice smooth finish - we will be buying more of this pinot in the future!
Huge aroma of strawberry jam with hints of some darker berries. Doesn't taste overly-fruity though. Mild tannins and a somewhat flat character but still pleasant to drink. Not a very interesting wine but worth getting if you need a cheap Pinot in a pinch.
Pretty alright for a central coast Pinot. Light and fruity.
I loved this wine. Full of flavors with a rich and creamy concistancy. It was just what I was looking for. Worth a try.
External Reviews for Concannon Vineyard Pinot Noir Central Coast
Concannon Vineyard in the Livermore Valley is an historic winery. Going back to 1883 when James Concannon first tilled the rocky soils, and producing exceptional wines for his time. This Pinot Noir is a blend of grapes sourced from prime vineyards throughout California's Central Coast. This Pinot was aged in both French and American oak barrels for 10 months and it shows ripe strawberry, cherry and cranberry notes along with hints of toast and spice. Great value.
