Concannon Vineyard Concannon Conservancy Crimson 2010

Winemaker's Notes:

The 2010 Crimson and Clover, Conservancy is a silky blend of Livermore varietals. Aromas of nutmeg, mocha and coconut lead into bright, fruit flavors of blackberry, ripe cherry and plum on the palate. The nutty finish is soft and long with a hint of vanilla. A tribute to the “Father of America’s First Petite Sirah,” Jim Concannon, from his son John, this wine epitomizes the innovative, steadfast spirit of Jim. Bold and lusciously fruity, this complex blend has fantastic depth and ages graciously. Food Pairing: Gorgonzola stuffed chicken wrapped in applewood smoked bacon or black pepper-crusted filet mignon.

They could speak, the rocks of Concannon Vineyard would tell a tale rich in history. Concannon’s treasured contributions to winemaking have positioned it as landmark winery with an enduring commitment to creating outstanding, award-winning wines. We have a history of proud firsts. We were one of the first wineries to pioneer Bordeaux and Rhone-styled wines in California. We are the home of America's first successful Irish vintner, the world's first Petite Sirah and world-class wines from our fruitful, rocky soil. As a founding family of California wines, Concannon created the hardworking Cabernet Sauvignon Clones 7 and 8, which helped plant much of Napa in the 1970s. Pioneering founder, James Concannon, began making wine in the Livermore Valley in 1883. Now, his passion for family and fine wine is evident in every aspect of Concannon Vineyard and we’re fortunate to share it with you today. Read less

Fairly big red blend from the Livermore area of CA. Jammy, blueberries and blackberries with a hint of spice. Chewy with a decent finish.

The Crimson & Clover, Conservancy is a velvety blend of signature Livermore varietals. Aromas of currant, clove, and vanilla lead into bright, fruit flavors of blackberry on the palate. The spicy finish is soft and long with hints of leather and tobacco.
