They could speak, the rocks of Concannon Vineyard would tell a tale rich in history. Concannon’s treasured contributions to winemaking have positioned it as landmark winery with an enduring commitment to creating outstanding, award-winning wines. We have a history of proud firsts. We were one of the first wineries to pioneer Bordeaux and Rhone-styled wines in California. We are the home of America's first successful Irish vintner, the world's first Petite Sirah and world-class wines from our fruitful, rocky soil. As a founding family of California wines, Concannon created the hardworking Cabernet Sauvignon Clones 7 and 8, which helped plant much of Napa in the 1970s. Pioneering founder, James Concannon, began making wine in the Livermore Valley in 1883. Now, his passion for family and fine wine is evident in every aspect of Concannon Vineyard and we’re fortunate to share it with you today. Read less

Nice. Not wildly memorable, but it definitely got an "mmm" when I first tried it. Reminded me of why I like Petite Sirah: the nice balance of spice and berries.

Bright berry with light pepper and charcoal notes. Dry, medium/full bodied, well structured with moderate complexity, zin-like flavours and a touch of vanilla. This dry yet well rounded version is more of a food wine than the more vibrant Bogle petite sirah. Has a satisfying finish. Very decent value at $19.99Cdn, .

A long standing favorite, a mouth-filling, assertive flavor with spices and tannins that is also smooth in finish and aftertaste. A strong Petite Sirah bettered only by Foppiano

Aromas of ripe berries, creamy oak and a touch of spice, it is full-bodied with hints of toasty oak and vanilla

As America's first Petite Sirah, Concannon's Central Coast Petite Sirah is a wine lover's treat. Concentrated to deliver intense flavors from the first sip to the last delicious drop. Full-bodied, rich wine with soft, full tannins and primary fruit flavor.

The wineryrsquo;s signature bottling remains a staple for PS lovers. Dark berry flavors pick up hints of spice and herb on the tannic finish. Itrsquo;s reasonably full-bodied, but it does have a slightly tart, constricted feel to the finish. Drink now or hold 3ndash;5 years.

The Livermore Valley master of Petite Sirah outspaces much of its competition and is priced fairly. Well-made and very balanced for a larger production endeavor, this Petite opens with a nose of pepper and mocha, stewed berry and plum and develops into a full body thatrsquo;s lush and oaky but also shows plenty of minerality.

A good value, the solidly constructed, well-made 2004 Petite Sirah Limited Release offers scents of tar, blackberries, currants and hints of minerals as well as earth.

Classic example of this incredibly full-bodied dark wine. A Petite Sirah this thick and rich is anything but ldquo;petite.rdquo; Mouthcoating and teeth staining, this monster red is packed with blackberry, blueberry, mocha and spice. Great for grilled steak or rack of lamb.

The dark ruby/purple-tinged 2004 Petite Sirah possesses dusty, loamy soil notes intermixed with black cherry and currant fruit. Surprisingly soft tannin, a good mouthfeel, and fine purity will provide pleasant drinking over the next 4ndash;5 years.
