Commanderie de Peyrassol Côtes de Provence Rose 2017

Member Review by anchca:

Very light clear salmon color. Fresh, clean, sweet fruity nose. Nice spice with a slight greenness. Well balanced with nice acid. Juicy ripe Asian pear, citrus, berries and cream.

Strawberries in the nose with a floral tinge, maybe rose petals. Subtle acidity gradually builds on palate. Very clean. Slightly lower alcohol helps it pair great with food.

I am in love with this one, a must try: dried fruit, slight oily texture with a hint of saltiness and delicate whiffs of dried fruit.

What would summer be without a cold, crisp rosé? It’s the long relaxing exhale in the midst of your day dream day lazing about in the sun. If you’re going for rosé on the 4th of July, why not get one from the birthplace of the varietal, France. The Knights of Templars started making wine at Commanderie of Peyrassol about 800 years ago. That’s plenty of time to refine a craft and turn out excellent wine. The 2010 vintage is fresh, fruity and ready for fun. This is one food friendly wine. Try it with fried chicken, grilled vegetables and even ribs. Look: A classic rosé, delicate rose pink, with good clarity. Smell: Commanderie de Peyrassol is delightful with a lilac, strawberry, lemon zest gentle nose. Taste: Fresh biscuit, strawberries, lemon good minerality, crisp with an easy finish. Blend of Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah Mourvedre. A very pale and luminous pink with mauve reflections. Fresh and ropy taste. A mixture of crushed ripe fruits - peaches and strawberries. Refined, tender, subtle. Pure first taste with mineral and fruity notes. A floral scent of rose and carnation. Goes well with spicy food, veal and chicken, fishes boiled, grilled and barbecued.
